Crucial mx 300 bad performance?

Yeah I am going to go with thermal throttling. If possible make sure it has good airflow if you are going to run benchmarks on it. Otherwise I wouldn't really worry too much about it.

Your first run it was significantly higher:http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/2197998
after that though it appears to suffer from degradation of performance. Then after about an hour break it goes back to normal: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/2198292 . Then again each run after that does poorly.

If it is any consolation, mine does the same thing. I am using a Trion 150 480GB. Our drives are very similar in performance and apparently thermal characteristics.

The deep queue 4k test really thrashes and and causes an overheating condition. I am using a Define R5 case and the SSD is mounted on the rear of the motherboard tray so it has zero airflow.
