Is an amd fx-6300 compatible with my asus a88x-pro?

I plan on buying a new cpu soon because my current one is trash and doesn't work well at all with my gtx 750 ti, so I need to know if an amd fx-6300 is compatible with my asus a88x-pro and if it works well with my graphics card.

Nope it's not compatible your board is FM2+ AND THE CPU is AM3+.....Sorry

Nope that is an FM2 motherboard and the FX-6300 needs an AM3/AM3+ motherboard. I suggest you hold off for Zen as the 4 core version should be way more powerful than either.

I would skip the FX and FM2+ and jump to intel.

For me, it doesn't make much sense to pour additional money into such an old platform, unless you can't wait for Zen to come out, or don't have the money to spend on a new system.
