can`t remember my router admin password (like an idiot)

so the other day i decided to add a log in password to my router so that no one can tinker with the options and stuff things up on a sagem f@st 3864 provided by optus australia and what do you know like the idiot i am i forgot it. the reset button on the router does not factory reset! (yay) and it never had a password before i added one and i don`t want to have to ring optus again because my mums going to yell at me (again) so if you guys could help me try to recover the password and username with out having any interaction with optus tech support that would be very well appreciated! please help

I'm sure it will factory reset :) Just the process of doing it. Leave it plugged in, powered up, and hold that reset pin down- many folks say use a pen however I've encountered ones that the pen's too fat to reach and depress the button so I use a teeny screwdriver. Hold the reset pin in until you see the router's lights flash like crazy.

i have tried that link the manuals are useless and no help and my router is a sagemcom F@ST 3864 and i held down the reset till the lan ports flashed and it did not remove the password

as i stated all ready i cant factory reset because the reset button will not factory reset no matter how long i hold the dam button for
