So I had someone help me build my first PC which used the same PSU as I have for my current PC.

I'm trying to hook up my Hue+ from NZXT and it needs to plug in to a molex. Since I don't have any cables are there any places I can get just one cable?

I don't think the Molex to SATA adapter will work because I need a Molex head to plug into the Molex on the Hue+

Any websites or suggestions is appreciated

I'm going to recommend the one that's on Newegg. I don't trust FrozenCPU since they've had issues with buying things and then not receiving them thanks to your money getting tied up in their investments rather than going straight to their bank(s).

I recommend this link, which was originally mentioned by ThatVietGuy.
Without knowing the PSU model and what cables are available, it's kinda hard to answer. Typically molex cable have 3 or 4 connectors... so if you have one connected to your PSU now, it likely has extra connectors available.

Same with SATA power cables, if ya using say 2, there's likely one free connector.

Id suggest Frozen, they have everything and will have nice compact adapters so ya don't have long wires getting all twisted up and restricting air circulation

Never buy cables for your power supply that are not provided directly by the PSU manufacturer and are meant for that exact model. Different models have different wiring, different wiring means they're not compatible.

The best thing that could happen if you got the wrong Molex cable would be that simply nothing happens... The PSU would notice the problem and wouldn't even try to boot the system. The worst thing that could happen is that a surge rides through the system, causes the PSU internal transformer to explode, and lights the house on fire.

If your PSU doesn't have the connectors you need, it's time for a new PSU.

What make and odel PSU are we talking about here.

EDIT: The SATA and Molex standards are rock solid. Buying an adapter from SATA to Molex would do the trick. Just don't buy a Molex cord that plugs directly into the back of the PSU as there's no guarantee it'll be the same wiring as what the PSU is meant for.

It's an Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze.

The problem isn't that it doesn't supply Molex.. it's just the guy who built it didn't give me them since they weren't needed in it. I'd really like to not have to buy a new one.

Only other option is to just sell my Hue+ back.

I am going to have to disagree strongly with the above comments. I am speaking based upon years of experience, which includes a site visit (was like a 750 mile round trip but was invited so I went) and tour of the facility. During that visit, I spent about 20 minutes chatting with the guys who make the cables so I'm not speaking based upon something I "read on the internet". Support is incredible as, unlike large e-tailers, everyone there has actually built a computer. Most have had a turn making the products in question.

Rather than many of the various nefarious suppositions as to what was going on that I have seen posted on numerous sites made by posters w/o any direct knowledge of what actually occured and were venting cause there was no immediate response. The fact is that FrozenCPU had a temporary interruption of service when the owner experienced some (medically related) issues. Before that period, FCPU had one of the highest ratings on reseller ratings.com

I have had a series of negative experiences from "no name" products on newegg / amazon and other e-tailers. Unlike with known brands and models, these are purchased from the lowest bidder and are therefore of the lowest quality. No big deal, one might think... newegg like amazon will make good on it and you can return the product for refund or exchange. But then you are out all that time not able to use that component while you wait for the product to be shipped back and forth 4 times.

I have a box of bad cables of many kinds from numerous sources, most that I took out of PCs brought in for troubleshooting. many times i have had t sand down the connectors to get them to fit together, are replace / reconnect / solder pins as they sit , unpackaged, in large bins and get tangled with one another and get damaged when pulled apart for sales and shipment. I personal builds, we make our own cables using parts (and tools) some of which I can only get from FCPU (or Lutro).

My most recent experience (amazon) for a Mini USB => Lightning port adapter... purchase was made over a month ago. Took 18 days to arrive, when it wouldn't work (didn't fit), they didn't even want it back, just refunded the money.

We've have spent 10 times as much at FCPU than I did on my 1st car and have never had an issue that was not immediately resolved. If ya still scared about the internet postings, I'd recommend that you buy cables only from OEMs or other shops that specialize in cables and adapters such as Lutro0 (now Mainstream), RAM Electronics, etc.
