Just moved to wetherill park 2164, Australia, NSW and am not sure what ISP to go with. I have no idea what to look for in choosing the right ISP except that I only can get adsl2+ but it depends how far I am from the exchange (Whats an exchange?). Please help me out ty.

The exchange is some central point to which your telephone (and now internet) connections are connected. For most practical purposes it is probably the last "decision point" where incoming and outgoing communications from your phone or internet devices are segregated out from all other similar traffic from your neighbors.

Crude analogy: the last traffic "cop" - all data is going down the correct wires to be noticed and received by the intended party. Being you.

More practically, I would suggest chatting with your new neighbors and learn about the ISPs that they use. Go online (somewhere) and look for ISP reviews and comments.

Wander about your neighborhood: See if you can pick out the ISP cables and connection points...

Wander about your neighborhood: See if you can pick out the ISP cables and connection points. Generally the cables, wires, boxes, etc. should have a clean professional look. Just not some jumble of wires, corrosion, etc. showing general signs of neglect. Call the various ISP support lines and see what the response time is. Ask questions that concern you. See how the companies respond.

Find out what products the various ISPs are offering. E.g., modems, routers, modem/routers. Go online and check the reviews for those devices.

Read a few tutorials about the internet and networking. Learn as much as you can.

No guarantees can be made with respect to any ISP provider - the fine print in the service contracts pretty much will confirm that.

Overall it will take some research and effort on your part to narrow down the options.

Good news: it appears you have options. Bad news: you can make the best decision ever and things will still fall apart.......
