Upgrading a motherboard requires reinstalling OS?

So I'm in the process of upgrading my whole pc that came pre-built and I'm planning to get a new motherboard I currently have GA-H61M-DS2 that came with windows 8. Will I need to reinstall or buy an OS when getting a new motherboard.

P.S I'm looking for a motherboard black or black/green £60 - £110

no you will not, but expect when you boot your new motherboard the OS will spend at least 15mins identifying your new hardware, downloading drivers if needed, which reminds me get the network adaptor driver on a usb drive in case Win8 doesn't recognize it you can slap it on and let it upgrade everything else afterwards

most likely, yes. it's a good idea to reinstall the OS when you get a new motherboard. what i'd be most worried about is the Windows 8 license not being recognized with so many hardware changes

if it was oem windows it will be tied to the motherboard normally

if it was retail going through phone activation usually works if you replace the motherboard

and trying with out reinstalling will either be ok

or will blue screen you due to different drivers for motherboard
