How fast can I damage my CPU with OC

So i didnt know my motherboard had an automatic OC feature, it just stated: normal, performance, eco in the setting. So me being a gamer chose performance. I started getting hot temps and i got three bsod, my temps when running games were 80-98 degrees, and idle with like 40-75 degrees temp. I fixed the issue now after i ended up getting a liquid cooler lol and put the setting to normal(was still getting very high temps with the liquid cooler), i run at a smooth 20 degrees idle and 71 degrees gaming (on intense graphic games).

My question is - is this enough to cause performance damage to my CPU? I ran my PC like this for 3-4 days, hardly played any games when I realized that i was overheating. Should i be concerned about damaged to my CPU? BTW this is a completely new CPU i7 6700k havent even had it for a week.

Solution
and if its now at default clocks with a liquid cooler

20c at idle is too low unless you are in a very cold room

71c is a bit high for gaming with stock speed on a liquid cooler

how are you reading those temps?

LOL didnt mean to select this as an answer woops! But thank you for all the responses :p.

As for the temps i used HW monitor. My idle temps are usually around 25-27 average. And what i meant by 71 degrees is thats the highest it would go (hwmonitor has that column all the way to the right saying max i believe) but its usually around 50-66 degrees but sometimes will peak to 71 but on average no matter what game its usually sitting around 50-66 degrees.

those averages seem ok though 66c is possibly a little high for stock speed on liquid--but nothing to actually worry over-- and 25--27c idle is closer to what i would expect--ie around 30c though depends on room temperature
