Hi fellow enthusiasts,

I recently built a computer less than half a year ago and it's been progressively getting slower.
I have barely installed any programs. I only use this for web browsing such as reading articles or forums, memes, using email and watching videos that is all (no extensive programs), but takes time to load websites and videos (main concerns).

On average CPU runs at 1% (5% sometimes) and RAM usage is at 35-40%.
I've ran windows defender + malwarebytes and nothing seems to be wrong.

I was wondering what the cause may be?

Specs are:

Processor: Intel Boxed Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cache 4 LGA 1151
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
SSD: Samsung 950 PRO NVMe M.2 512GB
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0, 8GB
Motherboard: Gigabyte LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard GA-Z170X- GT
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 80+ GOLD, 750W ECO Mode Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready

Input will be really appreciated, thank you!

Why did you spend all that money on a monster gaming rig when you only use it for browsing the web?

If you're having slow performance on the internet, check your network settings and speak to your ISP. What connection are you on?

For your PC hardware to be causing any sort of slowdown, it would literally need to be totally broken.

I was thinking the same exact thing, especially after seeing that 1070. I know after I installed my 1060, Steam became my best friend.

Hi, slow as in loading new websites after typing it in and load time on video sharing websites such as a youtube video on 1080p settings does not run smoothly and buffers...

Actually downloaded magician software a few days ago, however it asks to use (record) all our information so I politely declined as I do not see enough of an advantage and benefits after weighing the pros and cons.

I use a R5 Define case, which includes 2 fans (one in the front and the back), computer never gets hot or really noisy.

If that is the case, it is your network connection. Contact your ISP, and troubleshoot your router and/or modem. Run a speedtest.net and fast.com and see if you get similar speeds.

It's because it was my first build with recommended parts by enthusiasts and experts plus when I get something I have a habit of having to get the best top tier ends of everything and I work so money isn't an issue.

And yes I can only think of maybe the internet connection speed, however I am not an expert on this. Speed test shows a download speed of 15.27Mbps, upload speed 1.94Mbps and ping (or interchangeable with latency?) bandwidth of 22ms. I use AT&T, previously used cox (changed providers because I moved).

Sort of unrelated but my phone and tablet lags (through Wi-Fi) often sometimes severely (nothing compared to the computer) so I recently changed the DNS to OpenDNS and Level3, however I can't tell if it even helped (faster speed wise) and sometimes feel like its actually slower now,
