Hello, I don't know where to put this so I put it here since I think its most relevant.

As the title says I want to make a home server.

As of this moment, I am using Bluehost shared hosting and host 34 websites.

One of this website is a blog, others are an affiliate and drop shipping sites. All are on WordPress.

I am planning to go bigger since I have a huge traffic across all my websites and I am making a new website every month. So the shared hosting era is near the end for me. I am not going for VPS either. What I aim for is Dedicated Servers. The good hosts, reliable, are between 300-500$ a month for almost good server. Basicly this is 3600-6000$ Anual. If I take it for 36 months it may become cheaper per month.

Anyway I got that awesome internet and want to build a server.

I am writing here because I want suggestions of the hardware part.

What I was planning to get:

2 x Intel Xeon E5-2620 CPU
2.00Ghz CPU Clock Speed
2 x 6 CPU Cores
2 x 12 CPU Threads
15MB CPU Cache
16GB DDR3 RAM
4 x 500GB SATA III / RAID 10 HDD
SSD ?

Let me know.

You need to verify with your ISP that hosting a commercial website does not violate your terms of service. Most of the time, with non-commercial contracts you would be violating your terms of service.

Your CPUs are quad channel memory. You want to use 8 DIMMs (4 or 8GB) to maximize performance. I would recommend ECC RAM since this is a commercial activity.

You really want to examine your network hardware also. I wouldn't want to use a home router. Get a business class router also.
