Problem With Realtek HD Audio Manager After Mobo Upgrade

I just upgraded my motherboard so that I could put in a better processor. It's an MSI motherboard. It seems nowadays, many motherboards automatically set your computer up with Realtek HD Audio Manager. The problem is I HATE Realtek HD Audio Manager. Before I swapped out my motherboard, I was able to equalize the sound just by going to Speaker properties in Playback Devices. The sound isn't equalized to what I'm used to anymore and the bass is extremely overpowering. It makes songs sound crazy and it screws with my ears. Anyway, can I get that equalization back? Or even do it in RHDAM?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
if you uninstall realtek hd audio manager yes you should be able to just go to playback devices to do it

realtek hd audio manager isnt working for me in latest preview build so thats what i did

though you should also be able to use manual equaliser in realtek hd audio manager

Well it seems you have installed the realtek drivers, which gives you the manager. You can uninstall that if you want and just use the windows defualt driver for soundm which is how i'm assuming you had before upgraeded your mobo, I dont think this effects sound quality as you will still be using the same codec however i'm not sure on that.

To uninstall open device manager, expand 'sound, video and game controllers', right click on realtek high definition audio and uninstall. Restart your pc and it should automatically grab the windows audio driver and install if it does not and you have no sound at all let me know and we will have to reinstall the driver you just uninstalled.

for my motherboard i have to say the sound is better in realtek hd audio manager--when it works with preview builds lol

though without it the audio isnt bad by any means either

though different people hear sound differently

so if not happy with it uninstalled put it back in and mess with the manual equaliser in it to get a sound you like

Cool, thank you. However, uninstalling Realtek didn't fix anything. There still was no equalization option. So I popped in my mobo CD, reinstalled it and now I cant find the equalization tab. This is what I'm getting:

do you know the model number of the motherboard?

might be possible to get an unskinned version of the audio manager

though really some where in there though msi altered its look clicking something should bring up the equaliser section

i just dont know what unfortunately as looks so different to mine

Np, I'll do some fidgeting around and hopefully fix it.

somewhere in it should be equaliser and sound effects

though to be honest the sound effects arent much use

after the first time you listen to "sewer pipe " effect etc you just ignore them and use the equaliser

if you find it let us know and will remember where it is for possible future use
