I bought a prebuilt pc a while ago i have now decided to buy parts and build a custom pc, but i want to keep my HDD from my current pc as i want to move my OS onto my SSD in my new custom build, but none of these posts tell me how to do this when i have the windows 7 home premium OEM i also upgraded to win 10 when it had the free upgrade, i would be glad if someone could just leave a comment/responce telling me how i can go about this problem ?

You can use SYSPrep tool to remove current drivers, clonezilla to clone from HDD to SSD and then the Repair option on Windows boot if it doesn't wants to start, you can enter your windows key to activate it again
Welcome to the community, @CurveD15!

Unfortunately, since this is going to be an entirely new system, you will need a new genuine Windows Installation. The operating system (OS) is tied to the motherboard of the computer it's primary installed on. This basically will prevent you from using the same activation code on an entirely new motherboard & PC rig. When buying new parts, make sure you get a new OS as well. You can surely clone the HDD to the SSD using a specific cloning utility, but it won't be able to boot from another computer other than the pre-built one.

If you need further assistance with the OS, make sure you contact MS support.

Good luck!
