New build-Black Screen and Solid Red Light

My friend just built his new computer. When he turns it on, the screen stays black and the red light on the MOBO stays on. What could be the problem? Thanks

Depends on the motherboard. I had this same issue when I built mine. It was the VGA LED that was solid red. unplugged the monitor and plugged it back in fixed the issue. DRAM, CPU, and boot device may have LED's.
