Why does my overclocked 4690K bottleneck my rx480 so badly when playing Need for Speed 2016, the witcher 3, battlefield 4 and gta v? I have it at a steady 4.3ghz scoring 637cb on cinebench, but even with fresh windows, no background multitasking I still bottleneck it is really annoying when I am playing bf4 and only 50% gpu usage with 90%+ cpu usage on all maps regardless, Need for Speed is also 80%+ all the time with gpu flicking between 0 and 100%, the only way I fix this is ultra settings with 4x msaa and 1440p on bf4, that puts me about 50-55fps but means I actually get use out of my gpu which I prefer..

Answer only if you know for sure why and don't say "You have a virus" or "You lack ram" I have 10GB and even when putting 16GB from a friends machine it didn't help at all

4690K won't bottleneck 480. Turn off v sync and have a look at GPU usage while in game. Make sure you don't have any background processes killing your CPU.

So you clearly didn't read what I said. I specifically said don't reply if you are gonna say the same things other people have, V I have tried every single solution I can think of, V sync off doesn't help, makes cpu hit max too much and just freeze glitches, I have msi after burner using 1% of cpu before I launch the game.. 1%! I cant get it any lower than that before playing a game and it will still bottleneck so try again.

Yeah exactly, I'm not sure if they just don't work well together or the i5 isn't powerful enough or what, see what ive noticed is the RX 480 ALWAYS works so much nicer with more cores on a CPU which makes hardly any sense, but the fx 8350, can handle 2 RX 480s both overclocked in crossfire on GTA 5 and it doesn't bottleneck AT ALL, which is weird, the fx 8350 shouldn't be as good but when paired with an RX 480 it just thrashes other stuff I don't get it

Would be a waste. You're not going to get anymore FPS with an i7 as opposed to an i5. This has been proven time and time again. Clearly something is wrong with your GPU drivers or something.
