Should I upgrade my GPU or CPU?

At the moment I'm currently running with an MSI R9 270 2GB and an A8-6600k. For a while I thought that it was my CPU that was hindering my FPS, for example, I was playing the battlefield one open beta a while back and was getting below 60 fps on all low settings. Is it actually my CPU bottleneck, or is it that I don't have a very powerful GPU?

Also I was wondering about my system slowing down when browsing the internet with other processes open on my system, it sometimes even slows down when i'm watching a twitch stream on source. Is this a HDD problem, will getting an SSD benefit me?

Thanks, Cieran

IMO i would wait a few more months if you can that is with Zen and kaby lake right around the corner there will be better prices on the 6xxx series intel and that will be the best time to upgrade if you dont have the money to upgrade to the 7xxx series intel CPU's

I was looking into buying something around the price of the I5 4790k, how much do you think the prices would drop with the upcoming release of Zen and Kaby lake?

Yeah, prices would drop for sure on Skylake boards, the variety for Haswell motherboards and also the availability is poor, and prices for those will likely go up if anything.
I'd keep an eye on the 6600k or the 7600k, they're bound to be among the best value.
Update this post after the hard launch of Kaby Lake, if I see any bargains, i'll let you know.
