looking to buy a GTX 1070 for 1440p gaming. I think i have it narrowed between the MSI 1070 Gaming X, or the Asus Strix (non-oc version - the OC version is 70$ more). Which one should I get and why? looking for answers in 2 categories:
which one has better cooling? (some people say the MSI does, the two big fans and better cooling technology on the card and fans should cool the card better)
and
which one will produce better performance/framerates? (i would assume the msi would because its factory oc'ed while the Strix isn't.)

also, which company do you trust more for reliable gpus?

Solution
Well, put it this way.

Catagory 1, Cooling: Mostly it comes down to personal preference when choosing things like this. Cosmetics are a very key component (pardon the pun) in the choice of a graphics card. Personally I prefer Asus for cooler design and performance but MSI is still a big competitor in this game and could outperform Asus.

Catagory 2, Performance: Because they are the same GPU underneath that cooler (NVIDIA GTX 1070) the only deciding factor in performance is the GPU clock speed and memory clock speed (in Mhz (Megahertz)). So if the MSI card has faster GPU clock speed then its better value. Don't worry too much about memory clock speed as this does not effect performance in a easily noticeable way.

TL;DR get the one...

TL;DR get the one with the highest clock speed, as long as its your favourite looking one ;)

Hope this helps!
