I have a 115i, I'm also kinda new to water cooling so I'm curious if its normal to get around 54C just browsing the internet and everyday things like that.

Doesn't seem quite normal. My overclocked 6800K hovers around 30-40 when browsing lightly with music and such in the background. Did you set your pump to run at full speed? have you gotten proper case ventilation?

Yea, everything's set up. I have the 115i on balanced, What thermal paste do you use?

54C idle seems a bit too much. Normal temps are around 45 C.

Check for the following:

1) Did you apply thermal paste properly? How far is the CPU overclocked?
2) Open Task Manager in Windows. Are there any background processes running that are CPU-taxing?
3) How many case fans do you have? Is there sufficient airflow?
4) Do all the fans on the 115i spin?

It would help a lot if you gave us the full specs of your PC.

I'm ordering 99% Isopropy alcohol and MK-4 thermal paste, would these make that much of a difference from using a coffee filter to wipe off pre applied thermal paste and using artic silver 5?

Just put the computer together last night, I cleared background processes.
I have 2 intake and 1 exhaust plus 2 more on cpu cooler.
All of the fans are spinning.

Hi,

The fan are set to push the air inside the case to out or in?

I have Corsair H75, honestly I never applied any thermal paste because it have on already (i think lol) but my temp never goes more than 55 under full load gaming. However, I have two fans front where set to push air inside the case while the CPU cooler to push the air outside the case.

Also I would make sure the cooler pump and fans connected to the right ports on the MB, beside that can you check the fan speed when you try to open a web-page and gaming for example and see.

I have my CPU fans set to taking air out of the case, would you recommend setting them to intake? and that would leave 1 exhaust fan, im pretty tempted at this point with these crazy high temps

Setting CPU fans to intake is bad idea, as you will be keeping the heat inside. Try to apply the thermal paste again but this time make sure you cleaned it very good with tissues for example and one thing before you do this, remove the CPU and check if everything is good pins and no dust there.

I applied before Startech.Com 1.5G Metal Oxide paste to a GPU & CPU (Before I get the H75) but didnt improve at all, so I bought another one Noctua Thermal Compound NT-H1 which improved and got lower temps but still the change was few C's.

Would you recommend putting another fan as exhaust on the bottom of the case?

The thing you will need to see other setups and compare with, as more fans does not mean that you must get a lower temp, it helps but it might be different issue. Can you take a pic for the case from inside?

Also, is your room temp is high? as this affect too.
