So I have the i7 4790k sr219 but the socket won't close! I used a but of force till I realized it couldn't close because of how the CPU is made! The side of it didn't let the cover or socket close! This is my build without the i7!

What CPU should I buy that will actually fit in and close! Please don't list any other parts! Hopefully I can sell my i7 for $250 (that's what I paid)! And maybe an i5? I don't want to change any other parts since I already bought every thing! Before I bought these items people said that it would work fine but it didn't! I must have a different i7 ! I have this one

But I don't don't think mine is called devils canyon!

If it says "i7 4790k" on the box it's the correct CPU. Make sure you've oriented it correctly in the socket (yellow triangle on CPU aligned with triangle of the socket), and if you have then the socket should close fine. Also remember that every single Intel socket requires force to close, you're not just closing a lid.

If you cant get a LGA 1150 cpu into an LGA 1150 motherboard, then getting a different cpu wont matter they all have the same dimensions as the 4790k.

Also that link does not work for me. I'm not sure what you are doing wrong but that cpu fits in that board. If you cant get that 4790k in that board, im doubtful you will have luck with any other cpu.

Are you absolutely sure your motherboard is a ASROCK Z97 PRO4? And that CPU has i7 4790k written on the lid?

Take a picture of your cpu and motherboard then post it. That seems like the only way we will be able to help you at this point. Either you are doing it very wrong or you do not have the parts you say you have.
