hello guys, i just bought a new ram Kingston ddr3 1333 mhz 4 Gb 1 slot i have windows 7 ultimate
motherboard: gygabyte P55-USB3. when i installed the memory card to my cp (even took off the old ones.!)
i have BSOD: irql_not_less_or_equal...
what to do? i have cpu intel i5 3.33 Ghz.
my old RAM (which i took off to check only the new 1) is also knigston ddr3 1333 mhz but it is 2 cards of 2Gb and i worked fine...
Thanks for help!
edit: at the first 2 slots it just makes strange beeps, and wont to anyting. at each one of second slots it does the BSOD...

Hello... The P55 memory compatibility problems comes up here a lot... The Kingston site will suggest DDR3 models for use in a P55 MB... and also tell you which DDR3 models are "NOT" compatible with the P55 chipset... there was something special in memory selection with this chipset first generation i3, i5, i7 series... as the 60 and 70 series MB's take about any 2Rx8's 12800u 1600/1333 non ECC DDR3 sticks.

People were buying some Kingston Fury DDR3 on sale, 6 months ago for their P55 MB's and they were not getting them to work together... Kingston's Website does say "Not compatible " with the P55 chipset. That's all I know about it... I never had a P55 MB or bought memory for one, but I have 60/70 series MB's. B /

Yes... Clearing the...
Hello... Memory configuration/settings get stored in your CMOS memory... you last good BOOT was with 2 sticks and typically running in dual channel mode... using one stick with those settings it will have a memory/Boot error.

Anytime changing the memory cards, Remove the MB battery, and jumper the CMOS clear pins ~3 mins, remove jumper and re-install battery, insert/set your Memory locations, and re-boot for the BIO's to set/create NEW memory/CMOS information.

but if i try to use only 1 of my old RAM it works without taking out the battery and install again, even thought its only 1 and not 2 cards...
isnt that fact against what u said?
Thanks for help!

Hello... NOT, if you were running in single channel mode before B ) the memory controller is on the CPU.

Let me give you some more facts... Not all DDR3 RAM is built to communicate the same... DDR3 is just a card form factor... Not all Kingston DDR3 is built or communicates the same B / it depends on the wiring of the circuit and the memory controller used on the MB or CPU, which memory model you get to Match.

There are DS, SS, ECC, Non-ECC, High and Low density memory chips and designs... on the same DDR3 card. B /

The Kingston site will suggest models for use in a P55 MB... and also tell you which DDR3 models are not compatible with the p55 chipset.

need more specific info? how do i check more than that?
for the time being u still say i need to unplug the battery and install again? ofcourse also take out the electric ACDC

Yes... Clearing the CMOS will put the MB BIO's into a memory and hardware configuration setup mode, to create/store new CMOS information/communications for the system... if this does not get it working then you have the wrong type, population, or size, or slots, or bad stick(s).
The Bio's configuration will be to "default" programing so if you have changed your CPU/GPU/PEG setting, Boot order or SATA modes, for example... you will need to set them back afterwards (save&exit) Typically the intel CPU/GPU/MB will be your Video Outputs afterwards.

Take your time here and be slow and careful to your MB... look in your MB manual/Pdf for pictures and location of the SW/pins. B )

1) un-plug PS from wall.
2) remove MB battery
3) place jumper pins/switch on MB to clear the capacitors... for ~2 mins
4) remove Jumper/switch
5) re-install battery

Look in your manual/PDF for the correct RAM slots you want to use/test for "Dual channel" OR "single channel" operation with this MB.

6) re-move and re-seat your RAM stick(s) into the MB slots.
7) plug monitor into the MB video output
8) plug in PS to wall
9) Boot computer.

Legenda in Aeternum
Up till post 2010, DDR3 was made with DRAM that used low density memory ICs, 2011 forward DRR3 has moved to high density memory ICs (chips) which are seldom ever compatible with the older 1366, 1156 and 775 mobos. The Fury in particular not only use high density memory ICs but operate off PnP opposed to the standard of XMP, and Pnp is not supported prior to the 1155 mobos
