Hi there,

I am considering upgrading from my GTX 680 so that I can get a 4K monitor. I am wondering what would be a worthwhile upgrade? I have been looking at the GTX 1060 3GB for around £200 and wondered if anyone thought it would be a good upgrade of if there is a better option around the same price? I have no experience with AMD but if you think they have a better alternative I would also welcome that! Thanks for any help!

I'm not sure how well viewing 4K on non-gaming listed cards works. I kinda went on the assumption you were looking for 4K gaming.

Processor's pretty good though. If you are forced into the 200 range, I'd get a 6 GB 1060, little extra power and 3 more GBs of VRAM for higher res.

Thanks for your advice! I have an i7 3770K CPU if that helps? The main reason for the upgrade is to be able to use a 4K monitor for everyday use, I read on the NVIDIA website that the 680 does not support 4K. I am happy to continue gaming at 1080p or 1440p at the moment but I would like to be able to use a 4K monitor as I also do a lot of graphics/photography work.

Thanks

Thanks, your knowledge has been very insightful! Not fully decided what I will do but I feel much more in the know now!! I'll certainly take a look at the 1060 6GB.

Thanks
