Dear people of Tom's Hardware,

Ever since I've taken the time to overclock my RAM and CPU, I've noticed that my computer will randomly "Lock Up" as in the computer doesn't necessarily crash, but I have to forcefully restart it because I can't click any of my taskbar items or open folders. Also, during this lock up, my computer slows down CRAZILY. To the point that I can't even open Task Manager. It always ends with me having to restart it.

Some background information:

Computer Specs: http://textuploader.com/axlfq

Vcore = 1.255v

Uncore = x34

RAM = 1866Mhz @1.5v (9-10-9-25 RAM timings)

CPU Ratio Multiplier = 45 (4.5GHz)

I have C States 3 and 7 enabled, as well as Intel SpeedStep (EIST)

Turbo Boost is disabled

Those are the key settings I have changed, everything else is set to their defaults.

Did what you said. Ended up disabling C State 3 and that fixed the issue. Tried stress-testing with Aida 64 but couldn't finish because it said hardware errors detected. Narrowed it down to the RAM being unstable according to the software. Changed it back to 1600Mhz and the optimized RAM timings. Ran for an hour with no errors.

Might do what L0stChild suggested if there is future instability. Curious to mess around with the LLC settings. Thanks for the help guys!
