For hard drives is there anything more than just plugging it in?

I have recently finished off my gaming PC, everything works except one issue. I have a Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB 6GB/S Internal SATA Drive that I have connected with SATA power and data connectors but the hard drive doesn't appear to show up in the 'my computer' part of folders. Is there anything else I need to do?

Many Thanks.

No. Have you tried different SATA data connectors to make sure yours isn't faulty? Does the drive spin when you power on the computer? If you know your cables work then your drive is dead, and you'd have to return it if you still have time.

You might need to go right click your start button and click on computer management and then click on Disk Management. Right click drive and click enable. You could also Right click the start button and click on Device Manager. Right click on an empty part of the Device manager window. Click on Scan For Hardware Changes.
