Upgraded to GTX 1060; still no 60Hz

Advice from Tom's hardware, I got a new Samsung 4k Monitor but it was displaying only 30hz. I was told to buy a new video card so I upgraded from GTX 750Ti (HDMI 1.4) to GTX 1060 (HDMI 2.0). But it is still running 30hz at 3840x2160.

Frustrated because HD video on Amazon and Youtube is still laggy.

I installed new drivers and everything. Help please?

Look at the cable a lot of the time it will say right on it. Look for 1.3, 1.4, or 2.0. If it says 2.0 it should work, if you see 1.3 or 1.4 you will need a new cable. Either get hdmi 2.0 or display port.

IT'S FIXED!! You're right, it did come with a DisplayPort cable and it went to 60hz!!!!!

The video was still laggy, but that was because hardware acceleration was OFF on Chrome!!

WOW 4K IS SO BEAUTIFUL!! THANKS FOR THE HELP!
