I had recently got my i7 and 212 EVO. The install was disastrous. I accidentally put too much thermal paste, I moved around the heat sink too much, and all that jazz. When removing the CPU to return my mobo, the clean up job was... ok. I used a lens cleaner, soft tissue paper, and 50% isopropyl alcohol, but the CPUs sides looked weird with thermal paste. I hadn't turned on my PC since I got the cpu, so I wasn't sure if the CPU actually worked. Here here are some pictures:

Is my CPU ok?

(Don't ask why I didn't turn on my PC then returned my mobo, it's a long story.)
