Hi all!
I recently built a new pc, but I am having some audio issues. I have been searching online for answers for days, but unfortunately nothing has worked yet.
The Problem:
There is a constant static noise that comes through my speakers from the time I start up my computer. The noise gets louder/screeches when I do anything with my mouse (move/click). The noise can be masked when I play music on spotify, however it does distort the sound (sounds fade in/out, female vocals almost non-existent). Anytime I watch a video on youtube the sound from the video is almost nonexistent (heavily muffled), but music on youtube is similar to spotify.
Whenever I try to play any game the static turns into a hollow buzzing sound when the main menu appears. Once I start playing the sound just gets amplified and is unbearable.
Current Build:
OS: Windows 10
CPU: Intel i3 6100
Mobo: Asus B150M-A D3 Micro ATX
GPU: AMD Radeon RX470 4gb Powercolor Red Devil
PSU: Corsair 550RM Gold+
HDD: WD Blue 1Tb SATA 6Gb/s 7200rpm
Memory: G SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1866
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX
Case: Cooler Master N200 Micro ATX
Speakers: Yamaha HS 7 studio monitors
Headhphones: Sennheiser Hd 25 1-II
As I mentioned before I have tried many different solutions and nothing seems to be doing the trick.
Attempts tried:
1. Removed graphics card. I thought that it could be due to the GPU causing some sort of interference, but that did nothing.
2. Tested the sockets and plug strips for grounding issues, but everything showed up correctly.
3. Tried all audio jacks (front and back).
4. Tried out different headphones and speakers. Speakers just amplified the sound compared to the headphones.
5. Installed new soundcard.
6. Checked wiring to make sure everything was hooked up properly
7. Updated all drivers for motherboard and soundcard
8. Disabled and uninstalled Realtek HD audio driver (onboard sound). However even when I turned off the auto-update it still re-installs itself after reboot.
My thought is that it could be an issue with grounding between the case and the motherboard, but I don't want to RMA the motherboard and swap out the case until I have exhausted all other options. It could even just be the fact that I can't get rid of the onboard audio.
Hopefully someone with a lot more knowledge than myself has come across a fix for this solution. It's been about a decade since I built a computer, so I could be overlooking something simple.
If there are any questions that I can answer that would help in your suggestions feel free to ask.
Thanks in advance!
