Games I plan to run: I am looking to play games like Skyrim, minecraft, league of legends, warframe, crusader kings 2, europa univesalis 2, deus ex:game of the year edition, divinity: original sin, farcry 3, god eater 2 rage burst, life is feudal, lord of the rings online, middle earth:shadow of mordor, space engineers, total war:warhammer, vindictus, sid meier's civilization 5, stellaris, endless legend, the sims 3, starbound, stronghold 3, torchlight 2, tropico 5, wargame:red dragon, warhammer 40k dawn of war and the Witcher 3

Additional Comments: I am an avid gamer and play a variety of games. I do not need to run them at ultra or high quality. I usually keep everything at medium quality. I am looking for something that will run smoothly and fairly silently at medium quality. I am worried about cooling in this system. I'm looking to probably keep it around 60-75F. I often play for hours on end. Anywhere from 3-10h a day. I'm probably gaming for most of that time. There's maybe an hour or 2 there when i go cook something to eat or have a shower but the computer will still be on. Do I need more case fans? Is the cpu fan necessary for the cpu and if so is it sufficient for my cpu? Do I need a thermal compound on my cpu? I have gone with a single 500gb ssd as i don't want to spend to much money on it and i believe 500gb will be enough for me. I am also not sure if this stuff will actually fit together and is compatible.

Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Gunmetal/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case $114.99

CPU: Intel Core™ i5-6600K Processor, 3.50GHz w/ 6MB Cache $299.99

CPU Cooling: Cooler Master
Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler
$42.99

Motherboard: GA-Z170XP-SLI w/ DDR4 2133, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit LAN, CrossFireX / SLI $184.99

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $124.99

Hard Drive 1: Samsung 850 EVO Series Solid State Drive, 500GB $219.99

Optical Drive: I just need something that will play cd's for some music and the occasional old game which i still have a cd for GH24NSC0 SuperMulti 24x DVD Writer, SATA, Black $24.99

Video Card: ROG STRIX GTX1060 6G GAMING GeForce GTX 1060 6GB PCI-E w/ DVI, Dual HDMI, Dual DP $429.99

Power Supply: SuperNOVA 550 G2 Modular 550W Power Supply $114.99

Total Price @ Current Listings: $1557.91

Approximate Purchase Date: Looking for sometime around December 2016 as there will probably be deals around that time.

Budget Range: $1500-$1800 The prices I have used are from Dec/2/2016.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming is the most important thing to me here. I play a fair amount of multiplayer games as well and require a fast and stable internet connection. I'd like to be able to run a game and have 3 tabs or so open or maybe a download in the background with no problem. For everything else adequate will do.

Parts Not Required: Don't need a a mouse, keyboard, or monitor as I already have those. I'm not upgrading. I simply have a bunch of old stuff from my parents that I plugged in to a laptop which I am currently using.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: [http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/] and http://www.memoryexpress.com/ I have been using these sites to configure my build.

Country: Canada

Parts Preferences: I would like to use the Intel Core™ i5-6600K Processor, 3.50GHz w/ 6MB
Cache as I believe this to be the most economical choice for me based on what I have read. The motherboard i picked out actually says they don't have any in stock. I'd appreciate it if someone could suggest an alternative one.

Overclocking: I do not plan to overclock.

SLI or Crossfire: No. I am planning to use only 1 video card.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200

• It will easily crush through the games you want, although you can save on on some parts.
• Unless you really need a 6600k (That increase clock will make no difference, their turbo is same), a 6500 or 6600 would server you well.
• Absolutely no need for more cooling, right now your already overkill xD
• You can go for a cheaper case
• I'll post a cheaper build soon, that will give you identical performance in games.

Do you care about looks? If so whats your colour theme?

200mhz won't be noticeable in any setting. The turbo frequencies are the same. If you plan on selling the computer in the near future the "K" would be worth it for the resale value. If you don't plan on overclocking or selling, you're kind of wasting your on the premium.

Core™ i5-6600 Processor, 3.30GHz w/ 6MB Cache
so this here will do just fine? its being sold for $309.99 right now. the 6600k has $40 off at the moment so it is $299.99 right now so i was just gonna get the 6600k. If they stop the promotion or whatever i'll just get the normal 6600 then?

If it's on sale I mean why not. Prices are just ruthless here in Canada... I thought you could save some money by going with the 6600 non-K is all.

This build will easily max out anything on 1080p with 120+ FPS and absouletly rock the floor. The 1070 is much faster and has 8GB of VRAM. I replaced you SSD due to me finding a cheaper and equally good replacement. The CPU is as good as the 6600 with the same amount of cache, cores and almost the same clock - but if you factor in turbo it will literally be almost the same. All prices are Canadian and everything is compatible, if you need any further assistance just ask :)

I just have one question, are you assembling this build or configuring and buying it? If your make it yourself, it will be much cheaper. Building a PC is easy :p

I am trying to build it myself. it will be my first custom built computer. That motherboard is fine? It will run everything with no problems? and the 650w PSU is needed to run it all? 550 wasn't enough?

I see now that a regular 6600 would be fine. thanks for that. And yeah Canada's dollar is not doing well. What can I do though. Crap happens.

You'll actually be fine with the 6500, there is about an 40 CAD difference then the 6600, choose whatever you want. The 550 Wats shall be enough, I just saw it on PCP and lept on the 650 watt one as it's reliable, modular and cheaper. The motherboard is just fine, nothing fancy - unless you overclock the CPU. You could easily overclock the 1070 with no issues, but again the gains would only be about 10% xD After you are done building this beast, mind PMing a picture or two of the build?

Have fun building it :D
