choosing a mother board

I'm looking for a mother board that has a lga 775 socket, is overclockable, is micro atx, and either ddr2 or ddr3. the ones that im finding are above $50 or have insane shipping cost. Any Ideas?

i plan on using what i have now which is a core 2 quad q9505 or buying a core 2 quad q9650

Why spend money on this (ancient) tech? Modern stuff will perform so much better. I would suggest saving your money for a more modern and capable build unless you have a very specific need to run these old components.

because i've never overclocked a processor before and would like to be able to try it without worrying about burning out a more expensive processor

Understood. There again, modern tech will make that easier and less likely to cause permanent harm.

eBay is going to be the most likely source to find something. Very few retailers are going to have socket 775 motherboards in stock.

Newegg still has a few to choose from. Try here for a selection:

Check out Craigslist for your general vicinity. You may find an entire system for less than $50 to experiment with.
