So I have the Gigabyte x99 motherboard and 4x4GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum. The motherboard suggests that I use DIMMs 1,3 - 6,8 or [x][ ][x][ ] [CPU] [ ][x][ ][x] but the problem is that my radiator fittings wont fit as the RAM in the far left is in the way. If I however use DIMMs 2,4 - 5,7 or [ ][x][ ][x] [CPU] [x][ ][x][ ] it will fit perfectly but the motherboard goes into a power cycle, it turns on for a few seconds and then off again for a few seconds and then on again until i shut off the PSU. It wont even get too the BIOS. How can I fix this? I read somewhere that I can fiddle with the voltages but I'm not sure. All the DIMMs work and all the RAM sticks work

Solution
Try using on stick at a time in each slot to determine if it's a slot or stick problem. You certainty should be able to use any slots you wish, so I think its a bad stick.
