Hi guys, im from the Philippines and i was hoping to get some help and advice if what could serve me be better for the long run? I tend to get confused as to what people say that buy the best cpu/gpu u can afford(i can afford only 1) I already have a 1080p 60hz monitor from my old pc, the cost of a 1440p are too much, which was a a10-6800k and a 750ti. My budget is $1000 at least near it and in here its 52,000php. Is the overclocking worth it? (never done overclocking before but I want to learn) I want to play triple A games and can achieve my goal of playing 1080p 60fps. Should I spend more on my cpu or gpu? And please advise me if any possible upgrades down the road is a lot of help. btw mobo prices here are OP af. I cant afford both i5 6600k and gtx 1070.

my i5 6500 build:

A 1060 will easily give you 60fps for your 1080p 60Hz monitor. Maybe not at ultra settings in all games but at least very high settings.

We have seen a couple of games lately that their fps are limited under 60fps at times due to a stock i5. If this is the start of things to come I'd get the best CPU you can. An overclocked 6600k (4.5Ghz) is significantly more powerful than a 6500 but at the moment very few games will utilise that extra power. However games like BF1 really benefit from that extra clock speed

I'd also get 16gb RAM. 8gb is now under the recommended amount in a few games.

So my view 6600k, 1060 6gb & 16gb RAM
depends on your monitor.
for 1080p@60Hz any i5 with GTX 1060 6GB is perfect match
for 1080p@144Hz or higher res, GTX 1070 would be better choice.
keep in mind that for high (144Hz or above) refresh rates, an i7 is the CPU to get those FPS values in quite a few games.

The 1070 will make much more of an impact, dw.
All games are GPU dependent, but not all rely that heavily on the CPU.
The first build is very strong, good selection of components, although i'd get 16GB of RAM.
I suggest getting a 1060 and a 144Hz monitor though.
The Gamerock also has one of the best coolers on the market, so that's what I'd go with if you were to get a 1070: https://dynaquestpc.com/product/palit-gtx-1070-gamerock-8gb/

This mobo is designed for internet cafes, but is very good: https://dynaquestpc.com/product/asus-ex-b150m-v5-ddr4/

The N200 is a much better case btw.

^ you are actually misleading OP.
There is 0 benefit in GTX 1070 for 1080@60Hz. It is wasted money now and in a couple of years.
GTX 1060 does 60+ FPS maxed out settings where the CPU allows it.
For the 100+$ difference he can get other better components.

@n0ns3ns3, while a 1070 is no doubt overkill for 60Hz, I was asked which would be a better choice in terms of performance, I gave my answer, a valid answer, there's no need to jump down my throat because it does not align with your own.
For the difference OP should get a 144Hz monitor imo, if you actually read what I posted above I said IF he were to get a 1070 to get the gamerock, but to get a 1060 recommended and upgrade to 144Hz down the line.

If i get the 1070 while still having a 1080p/60fps then i cant use it to its full potential? but gains me better performance in games however if i get the i5 6500 then my cpu will gain me a few more years but yields lesser performance due to the 1060 is slower than the 1070 but for 1080p its enough. but what if i cut down less,

i5 6600k 11,500
GA-z170m-d3h 7,500
Hyper 212x 1,900
Gtx 1070 gamerock 22,000
1 8gb ram 2,000
1tb WD blue 2,300
S12-520 2,800
n200 2,200
Total 52,200

How bout this?

it depends when prices seem reasonable bur for now i dont think i need to upgrade. im still happy with my monitor. is 1440p really worth it? I just want to play tiple A games with no lag with decent fps(around 60fps i guess), u can expect in our country that prices are hell overpriced. its hard to find a build in the internet that has the same price/performance and given the retailers some products are not offered.

Hi sizzling thank you for giving your opinion. I want to use this pc for if possible 4-5 years without upgrading. I only upgrade my gpu when the time has come to let me play at low settings

I still dont know my future upgrade plan to be honest, may be if i had a good base of foundation of a rig then i may clearly see the upgrades i need down the road i guess? haahaha

Or i can buy a rx 470 4gb and save my cash for a 1440p monitor?

im kinda confused as to what cpu to get, i5 6500 or i5 6600k. The i5 6600k build will cost - 23,400 (6600k - 11,500 +z170 pro gaming - 10,000 +hyper 212 - 1,900) and the i5 6500 build will cost 12,800 (6500 - 9,500 + h110m-a or h110m-d -3,500) it will save me 10,600 or $212. Is it worth the extra cost?

btw, $1=50php rounded off

Yeah i'm leaning towards sizzling, the 6600k will increase the lifespan of your CPU significantly, and will allow you to keep it relevant for longer given you OC it.
This means when you upgrade to an 1170 and 1440p later down the line, your CPU will be a lot stronger.
Up to you, a 6500, GTX 1060 and 1080p 144hz is the other option.
