Hello and good day.

I am currently at a complete loss for a solution -

After scouring the internet to no avail and trying all the solutions listed here and on various other communities, may I ask the community if anyone has a solution to this challenge :

I was running AMD Phenom 2 x4 970 Black Edition on a GA-990FXA-UD5 (rev 1) F2 Bios version. I Installed CMY16GX3M2A1600C9 x2 (Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB DDR3-1600MHz Kit (2x 8GB), Black & Silver Vengeance Pro Heatspreader) x2 a few weeks ago. After installation of the RAM it was running at 1600MHZ by default as it should and did not revert to 1333, my mobo specifications allow for 32gb RAM up to 2400mhz so this would indicate that my mobo can take the RAM modules and run them at the correct speeds.

Yesterday, I updated my Bios from F2 to F12 (latest for my mobo)(rev 1) and I installed an AMD FX 8350 Black Edition. I booted up once everything was installed, everything went smoothly with the startup, the CPU is running as it should too, all my drivers are up to date too, am running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I then noticed that my RAM had now reverted to 1333 upon inspecting the system hardware in Easytune6.
I have tried to set the RAM to 1600 in the BIOS, using every possible method listed in these forums, but the Bios reverts it back to 1333 every time.

Has anybody else ever experienced a similar challenge ?
Can anyone recommend a solution ?

Please advise

Kind regards

After, things like a CPU upgrade and often other upgrade, and always after either a BIOS update ot a CMOS reset, your mobo resets itself to all defaults. Thus your DRAM has fallen to the mobo defaults of 1333, simply go into BIOS and look for and enable XMP or DOCP in the DRAM area of the advanced menu, then select 1600 and it will set the DRAM up for you ;)
