So I want to upgrade my CPU but everyone keeps telling me that I need to change my motherboard as well, last year I bought a GTX 750TI (I had a gt 520) and I had problems with the compatibility, the retailer changed my motherboard as well, anyways....I want to upgrade my CPU for better FPS in CS:GO.
I need your help, thanks in advance. Oh and don't care about the price as long as it's a good upgrade.

Solution
CS:GO is not well-threaded. Many new games would benefit greatly by moving from a 2-core i3 2100 to something like a 4-core i5 3570 or i7 3770, but the extra cores will sit unused in that particular game. I see two options:

1) Go with a new i3 6100 + inexpensive motherboard + DDR4, will probably run you about $200-225. The newer i3 will have 30-40% better performance per clock and ~20% higher clockspeed, resulting in something like a 66-75% performance improvement.

2) Drop in the highest clocked CPU that will fit in your current motherboard. An i5 3570 or 3770 have a ~5% performance per clock improvement and a 25% clockspeed advantage, which would result in a ~33% performance improvement. This will cost about the same, but performance...

What are your fps now? This should easily get you above 60 fps in csgo.
