Hi, I have a recent issue with my computer, lately i find that some games are not performing as they should be with my computer. Programs seem to take a while to open.
The specs.
Windows 10 home edition.
i7 6700k @ 4.5Ghz
16GB DDR4
Asus Gene IV motherboard. Z170.
Windows running off m.2 SSD
Games stored on SSd
ASUS DirectCUII 780Ti 3GB
The card was given to me from a friend (the card runs fine) his setup was a 3770k with the aforementioned graphics card.
His performance in certain games was considerably better than mine when the card was in his computer.
One example being "The Forest" where i cannot even achieve a stable 30fps with the lowest settings possible, whilst when the card was previously in my friends computer it achieved a stable 55-60 at high settings.
The same with fallout 4, with the card in the previous computer it ran at 50-60 respectively, with V-Sync enabled, yet now I struggle with the same card in my computer to maintain anything above 45fps at low-ish settings.
I have tried messing around with the CPU affinity in task manager and that seemed to give me gains in some areas for a short while, reverting back to poor performance very soon after.
Is there something I'm missing? Any advice is welcome!!
