Hello.
This days i'm having some troubles with my motherboard.
I noticed some weird buzzing noise coming from the back of the chipset in the motherboard.
So i put the motherboard out of the case, and mounted it backside up to see whats happen.

Now i ralized that the chipset was not doing any sound, the noise came from one fan so...

But when i was trying to locate the noise i accidentaly put my ear on the pcb.
It didnt happen anythiing, no sounds, no sparks, the pc didnt shut down or anything.
But now im a little worried about it.
I dont know if i could short something in the pcb or chipset and damaged it.

Will everything be ok?

Thank you.

I wouldn't worry about it, could have been a fan like you said or maybe some coil whine. Electrical crackling can be bad but a slight buzz is not something I would worry about. If you are worried about touching the PCB with your ear, I would say thats a silly concern yes lol. I have had my hands all over the PCB of motherboards and gpu's in the past, when cleaning, changing thermal paste and what not, never had an issue. The oils from your skin won't hurt anything, I would avoid it if you can but dont worry about damaging anything if you do.

No i don´t worry about the buzzing noise.
It's a "faulty" fan that vibrates and makes a low frequency noise, but i don´t know it seemed to come from the chipset :S

But know im worried about touching the pcb.
Not for touching the back of the pcb, but for touching it while the pc is on! So that's why i'm thinking i could short anything or something D:

Thank you.

Well you might be able to short circuit two components if electricity passed through you from one component to another while the computer is on but I would say thats quite unlikely. If your PC still works its safe to say you didn't hurt anything.
