Hi, i recently upgraded my pc with Evga supernova g2 550w psu and Amd fx-8350 cpu. My pc has been shutting itself off after 10-30 minutes and doesnt power up for a while after shutdown. I tried my pc with old psu, Cooler master gx 650 bronze, and my pc worked well with it. Temps have been fine too so that shouldnt be causing the shut downs. Could my new psu just be faulty?

Pc specs:
Nvidia geforce gtx 660
Asus m5a97 r2.0
1tb WD hdd
Amd fx-8350
8gb ddr3 ram

Solution
Borrow or buy digital multi meter and check PSU wattage, first short the green pin #16 to any black (ground 0V) pin nearby, and then switch on PSU

Common PSU wattage

Could be just bad cables so replace whatever cable that don't rate out as it should, check again PSU A/C input range, does it match your home A/C? before you RMA EVGA 550 G2 adding 1000VA UPS or voltage stabilizer sometimes sort the problem.
