SSD real speeds

I got a laptop with SSD with a standard 6G/s read rate. I'm reading of 2280 SSDs that have the capability of 3,500 read rates. Is the real rate actually 5x faster in terms of boot time and app loading. If so, I might pull out the current SSD and replace it with a 2280 version.

In real world use, no, they are not 5x faster.
As in...if your current system boots in 30 seconds, an m.2 drive will not boot in 6 seconds.
Or opening an application. 10 seconds vs 2 seconds does not happen.

That ludicrous speed is for large sequential data. Most of what you and I do is small random 4k stuff.
It would be a bit faster, but NOT 5x.

And probably not enough to warrant the expense. 2x the price for the same GB size.
