Hello.
I think my windows files are messed up. The computer will not load windows unless I disable the graphics adapter in safe mode.
This happened after I installed the newest amd graphics driver, two weeks ago.
I made a temporary fix after this, by using driversweeper to clear all driver remnants, installing all windows updates (I was behind in those) and re-installing the newest graphics driver. But this fix was only temporary, lasted about a week and when I decided to play a game yesterday (LoL) and did all the necessary client updates, the same problem occurred. Today I can't load windows with my gpu enabled. I tried re-installing the driver but the problem remains.. Any ideas? Could it be a software issue caused by the messed up drivers? Can it be solved without formatting the OS drive? Is it possible to be a hardware fail? that my gpu is dead? or psu failing? How can I check if hardware is failing please help..

My specs:

ASUS P5E3
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300
Corsair (4x2G) 1333Mhz
Corsair TX 650w
Radeon HD 7850 DCUII
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
SSD Samsung 256GB 830 Evo
Windows 7 x64

Hey konspiracy,

You could try repairing Windows with the command prompt. Start > cmd > Open as administrator > sfc /scannow

It's a good start and might just solve your issues. For HDD issues: while this shouldn't be one, you could also afterwards if the problem remain try this one: Start > cmd > Open as administrator > chkdsk C: /f /r /x

Good luck!

Hello I've tried both commands you mentioned, no fix :(
I'm almost sure its a software issue cause after attempting several times to start windows, it worked, now I'm using my computer as normal, i can even play games with my GPU... But Im afraid to shut the PC off because I know it wont turn back on that easily..

Hello matey,

I would like to recommend to you a solution as i have had this problem previously. Try updating you're BIOS and let you're computer reboot 2 times. This should fix the problem.

Before you do anything uninstall all you're gpu related drivers. Download the latest version for you're motherboard. Unplug you're motherboard and plug in you're IGPU. Q-Flash and update.

Shutdown the PC plug in you're dedicated graphics card and start up this should resolve you're issue and of course when logged in put in you're cd and install all necessary drives.

Hi there
My BIOS is already up to date (1503). there is no newer version since 2009.

How can I find the latest version of the drivers for my motherboard? I know that amd drivers from 1 month ago worked well without the last ~74 windows updates.
What do you mean unplug my motherboard?
I should install drivers from cd?
