Hi all, I have been running an EVGA X58 SLI motherboard with 6 gigs of ram(OCZ Gold 3x2) for something like 6 years with no problems. Over the weekend I picked up 12 gigs more (Corsair 3x4) and installed them. Once installed the bios only sees 12 gigs. The original chips were installed in slots 1,3, and 5 per manual recommendation and I installed the new chips in slots 2,4, and 6. I have tried reversing the pin installs with the same results. When the 12 gigs are installed the 6 gigs that were there don't seem to show up but if I take the 12 out the 6 works again. Does anyone have any ideas what is up? Links to the hardware are below.

The specs don't match, different latency 9-9-9-24 vs 8-8-8-24 and voltage 1.5 vs 1.65. Use the 12GB sell the 6GB

You could try to use the ram with manual timings 9-9-9-24 and manual voltage 1.65, but I think if you need the ram a 2nd set of 12GB same brand same specs is a better option.
