Hi there Karlaxis,

Is this a secondary or a primary drive?
Where is the drive recognized as having 2 GB of storage space? How is it recognized by BIOS and Disk Management?

Do you have data stored over there?

If this is a secondary drive, then I believe you can try to first take ownership and grant permissions of the drive afterwards: http://preyerplanning.com/take-ownership-of-entire-hard-drive-in-windows-7.pdf

Usually, when this type of thing happens it is because the hard drive is physically failing. When you power it on, it is unable to fully read the firmware modules stored on the platters and only detects in a diagnostic mode, showing the 2GB capacity.

1. What is the full model of the hard drive?
2. Is there any data of value on the hard drive?

If there are files of any value on the hard drive, it is best that you stop powering it on, as each time you spin it up, you risk causing further damage which could result in unrecoverable data loss.

Sorry for the very very very late response sir, this hard drive is secondary. my main hard drive is doing fine. this hard drive was given to me by my friend, it was used as a windows 98 format before. based on my research i think its the windows 98 fdisk format "enable large disk support" was disabled. is there any possible to enable the large disk support so that i can use the unallocated space? because i cant even use the unallocated space in the disk management. so sad :(

PS: there's no data in this hard drive, my friend formatted it before it was given to me. but yeah the problem is, it only shows 2gb instead of 500gb cant format. access is denied. cant even use disk part and disk management :( :( :(

PS: in bios it shows full capacity, in disk management is shows the full capacity but only 2gb is used and the rest is unallocated space.
