noob me, the new system can't boot, only cpu fan runs, no beep, no mobo LED

i replaced my old cpu mobo and memery sticks with new combo today, things does go quite well.

i took out memory, video card and hard disks, still the same, if I connect one 4-pin cpu power cable, the mobo LED lights, but still only cpu fan runs

gigabyte h170 gaming 3 + i5 6500 + 16 gb ddr4 3000 g.skill + gtx260 + 1 ssd + 1 hdd + 585w power supply

Did you look at the mainboard's compatiblity list if everything is compatible? Like RAM, CPU (its important to look if your CPU is compatible with the installed BIOS version!) etc..

@ayy_lulz, the CPU is lga 1151 i5 6500,which I believe 100% comparable with the board, the memory is 288pin which matches the board's spec too.

update, it turns to be not enough power, as my old PSU only has 24pin + 4pin, but the gigabyte h170 gaming 3 requires 24+8, i thought my cpu i5-6500 requires only 65w, but gigabyte customer service told me that the power of cpu only comes from that 8pin slot, so i have to plug it in, today, my new PSU arrived, after i got it in my case and plugged in, everything is fine now, thanks all the buddies above.
