Some of the more recent drivers have been causing my games to freeze. And it always seems to be during the middle of the game. Which the fps drop to 1 game makes a humming noise then crashes, or it eventually comes back but I have lost connection to the server. I've been experiencing it mainly with BF4, BF1, Rainbow six Siege, Fallout 4, and ESO. I cant find the issue but it has only been happening over the few recent months. All my temps are fine the highest my CPU's get are around 60, and CPU doesn't go above 40. I have a brand new PSU bought around a year ago its a EVGA 850W. The graphics card are brand new I just got an ASUS gtx 1060, after thinking my issue was my old GTX 660 sli but the issues still persists.... the CPU does jump to 100% used, the game uses around 80% the rest is system stuff. But while it gets this high usage my game slows down massively! Now I have recently reset my windows and the problem still persist.

There are two possible cause for this issue:
1. Your system is infected by malware or viruses. Try to scan with antivirus.
most common symptoms of infected PC is high CPU and RAM usage, All games lagging, slow PC, having strange program running in background and much more. I recommend you to do this first before messing with drivers/hardware.

2. Your display driver is culprit. Clean uninstall your driver with Guru3D's DDU
link: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
3. Maybe... Your CPU bottleneck your GPU. Check both GPU and CPU usage, both must be at balanced value (100%CPU 100%GPU)

Start fresh

    ■ Unplug power cord, remove motherboard battery, push and hold case's power button for 5 sec to wipe fail CMOS data, wait 15 min, push and hold case's power button for 5 sec, wait 15 min.
    ■ Reinstate battery, turn on, enter BIOS, set time and date, save and exit, try play game, if still freeze.
    ■ Use self on tester (if comes with PSU), follow the instruction to read each connector output, (A), if checked out as it should, then either motherboard component's faulty or software side conflict (a) or possible other part (I),

A

    ■ Could be just bad cable, try buy and replace the cable. if after the replacement cable don't work out,
    ■ Contact re-seller or vendor for warranty.

a

    ■ Take a closer look at your motherboard and find any unusual things (flimsy surface, scratched copper lane, bend CPU socket pin, etc), You didn't tell when the freeze happens, is it right from the start you build or after while.
    ■ Log on to windows, don't run any apps or stop online (if any) updates, use driver removal tool to completely wipe graphic card drivers, this will take you to restart windows, restart, windows will install graphic card with built in driver library, use this (if available) driver and play games, if persist, uninstall windows VGA driver and install original driver, if persist, then it's not graphic card driver conflict faulty.

I

    ■ Software monitor may give false reading, get good thermal grease such as Arctic MX4, remove CPU and GPU cooler, clean and apply Arctic put back cooler.
    ■ Logon to windows and play game, if still freeze, unplug power cord, touch the GPU and CPU heat sink, they should be very hot make you can't touch 'em, if not very hot, then you'll have power delivering issue with motherboard.
    ■ To verify motherboard power delivering issue use it voltage check point (if available), if no voltage check point then use digital multi meter to read motherboard some reference here and video tutorial with keyword How to check voltage on your computer using multimeter.

At some point power related component reach its life span so one degrading power related component decrease overall power delivering performance exponentially accelerate other components reach its life span.

I dont think it would be my PSU cause it would be effecting more than just my GPU and it's relatively new. But it could be my older sticks of ram so ill just take them out and see if it improves.

So I tried removing some of my ram make it 8gb but the crashing still continues...also I ran memory diagnostic tool and that came up clear....ill look at my motherboard and see if I see any issues. But what im noticing is it happens very frequetly in bf1, but less frequetly in other games like skyrim or Rainbow six siege.

When you say reset your PC did you mean clean install or reset from windows 10 advanced setting?. I think you should do a clean install and then the first thing you do is install a good antivirus to check all your drives.

I also had something weird happen to today, my computer randomly froze with a black screen, but I could still hear my friends talking on discord. Then after I restarted it I kept having like a skipping when people talked on discord, and in siege the game kept doing this weird like freeze skip thing. I restarted my computer and the problem went away......this is all very strange.
