Hi, I bought a Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming laptop with a 1 TB HDD storage. and i am going to installing a Crucial 525 GB MX300 SSD to replace the mechanical hard drive.

But when i read about the available SSD formats and seeing that there was an m.2 form factor. will there be any problems if i install an M.2 form factor SSD along with the 2.5" drive since both of them may have different controllers?

Thanks.

there wont be any problem mixing SSD types/formats, I have the lenovo ideapad 700 with the same setup, 1TB mechanical, replaced with a samsung EVO 850 and I installed another m.2 drive and they both work perfectly together.

The only reason you need to be concerned is if you wanted to raid them together... an I dont even know if its possible
