I've a bit of a problem with my PC. Before I took out my Motherboard's CPU side fan and applied a new batch of Thermal paste on it. The PC's temperature according to SpeedFan was decently normal-- Specifically for Cores 0-3 (Around 40-45+ C)

But now, after I cleaned the fan and replaced the thermal paste. The temperature values rose to something like this, even when idling or just having several tabs of Google Chrome opened up.

Is this normal or is there something wrong with my PC/CPU/Motherboard fan.

Oh, yeah. The temperatures for the cores spike up to a maximum of 80 when playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Are you sure you've attached the fan correctly? Is it fastened down altogether, does it wiggle with slight pressure or is it solid and doesn't move?

Are you sure you haven't put too much thermal paste on, it can act as an insulator if too much is applied, you only need around a pea-sized blob and the fan spreads it across the CPU, this is the safest option, although some say the pea-sized blob is still too much.

What would be the recommended amount of Thermal paste put on the PC?

Something between a blob the size of rice up to the size of a small pea, nothing more is needed.
