Confused about minimum requrements for dual and quad core

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about the relationship between number of cores and processing speed in relation to published minimum specs for software. Specifically my wife is thinking about buying some dictation software which lists as a minimum processor speed of Intel dual core 2.2ghz or equivalent. Her laptop has an AMD quad core 2.0 ghz processor in it. Does this technically exceed the minimum requirement even though the frequency is 0.2 ghz slower?

Solution
Maybe is the best answer. AMD CPUs are usually slower than Intel CPUs right now. But the 200Mhz probably won't make a difference. Obviously quad core is more than dual core.

The software will run, whether the performance will be acceptable, can only be determined by buying it and testing it.
