Hi
I need some help here
I recently brought a 4TB hard disk and try to use this as external hard disk with the ‘Seagate Expansion 1TB External Hard Drive Enclosure’. I did noticed some problem that the system only recognised this as 2TB hard disk instead of 4TB. Anyway, after I use my internal SATA cables in my computer to initial the disk and formatted it. The system managed to recognised it as 4TB hard disk even I plug it back into ‘Seagate Expansion 1TB External Hard Drive Enclosure’. I am a happy man now. But, I understand HDD enclosure might have a limit. Do you think is safe for me to use this as external hard disk with this drive enclose which is originally used for 1TB hard disk? Or I will have data loss issue in the future even I converted the disk to GPT?
If there are potential any idea which external hard disk enclosure is good for 4TB to 10TB hard disk, or any simple SATA USB with power adapter can be used as this could be cheaper option.
