Hi Everyone,
I recently bought two additional ip from ISP to connect verizon router with my telstra router using seperate public ip for internet.
I received an email from telstra that ip addresses are now activated on my same line so now i have 3 public ips on my line.
I tried pinging additional ips recently bought but can not ping them.
Should i able to ping additional ips?
How can i verify if my ips are activated as telstraasked me to restart router to activate them on my line?
Thanks in advance.

What you are doing is actually fairly complex and most routers are not designed to support more than a single IP.

The simplest method to support would be if you have a cable modem separate from the router. You could put a switch between the modem and the router and connect a total of three routers in your case to the switch.

Most other configurations will require special support on the router. There is no standard way the ISP provide this service. This is one of those things the ISP will need to help on. Most have some form of faq or documentation on how to set this up using their routers.

If there isn't a host configured for those IPS then no, you can not "ping" them, there is nothing to "ping"
