Gtx 1070 vs Amd R9 fury

I currently have a R9 fury and I was wanting to know if it would make sense to buy a Gtx 1070. I use a ultrawide monitor that runs at 3440x1440 if that help with the answer.

I wouldn't say they trade blows. The 1070 looks to be about 20% better than the Fury at both 1440p and 4K. Since the OP has an ultra wide 1440p monitor their resolution is somewhere between those too. The 1070 will be an improvement over the OP's Fury in the vast majority of games.

That being said, I'm not sure I personally would spend $400 for a 20% improvement. I like to see bigger gains than that from my upgrades. A 1080 would be a more noticeable upgrade for you. If you went with a 1080 you would be looking at an almost 40% improvement over the Fury. If...
