The 960 is my boot drive and it's not showing up in Samsung Magician as a Samsung device. I have the latest NVME drivers installed, re-installed Magician, and made sure the BIOS recognizes the drive correctly. Am I missing something?
I think a new version of Magician is coming out this december which will include the latest drives from them. I have a PM961 which is also not recognised. If you installed the software from a disk, it may be an even older version. go to the Samsung website and make sure you get the latest

I'm hoping an update to Magician fixes the issue. I installed the program from Samsungs site so it should be the latest edition.

I'm having the same problem. It says my drive is not genuine too, but I bought it from Amazon directly :-/
