I recently just completed by first ever build and everything is running flawlessly so far. Unfortunately I just realized that I did not install an exhaust fan as the case I bought, Corsair 460x RGB, included with three, pre-installed, case fans. I just purchased another Corsair SP 120 RGB to use as an exhaust fan. The issue now is that my Asrock Z170 Pro4s motherboard only has three fan connectors and they are currently all being used for the case fans included. Is it safe to use a fan connector splitter to power 2 fans off one port on the motherboard or will it draw too much current and cause damage overtime? I should also note that I have an EVGA 600W power supply.

Thanks for the responses in advance.

Thanks for the replies. Can anyone link me to some fan splitters that will work with these fans. All I'm finding are 4-pin PWM splitters and these Corsair SP 120 RGBs are 3-pin

Okay so they are all cross-compatible? Also I just realized on in my BIOS that I can only control the speed on two out of the three front case fans. The two that I can control are plugged into the ports near the front panel connectors, which are 4-pin, but the fans are only 3-pin, and the fan that I can't control is plugged into a 3-pin connector towards the back near the rear I/O. My motherboard specs state "3 x Chassis Fan Connectors (2 x 4-pin, 1 x 3-pin) (Smart Fan Speed Control)*" So I'm assuming that the fan connected to the 1 x 3-pin connector is the one I can't control even though my motherboard manual states no difference between these three connectors other than them being labeled CHA_FAN 1, 2, and 3 respectively. I'm planning on plugging the splitter into one of the 4-pin connectors near the front panel connectors and then using the 4th fan I just purchased as an exhaust fan plugged into the 1 x 3-pin connector near the rear I/O. Will this work properly? I guess I'm just confused on 3-pin and 4-pin cross compatibility.

Still having trouble getting CHA_FAN2 to asjust the fan speed. CHA_FAN1 is the only one that allows me to adjust speeds even though they are both the same.
