(I know this may be the wrong part to post a question about keyboards in, but I'm more likely to get a reply here)

I have a quick question about mechanical switches. Firstly I have a mech keyboard with blue switches and I like the bump when typing, but its too loud even with o-rings on.

So my choices are, corsair strafe RGB with brown switches or silent switches? Is the feedback from the brown switch even noticeable? I didn't mention that the one with silent switches is £30 cheaper than the one with browns.

BTW the computer stores near me are terrible and only ever sell the silent keyboard (that's if they even have it in stock)

I use brown I don't see them any better to be honest I thought I try black or red [seems the hardest to get]

I liked the Corsair STRAFFE Cherry MX Silent switches. I owned one for a while and ended up giving it away as a gift. The Cherry MX silent switches felt nice to type on and were pretty quiet, which was a plus to me. I recently reviewed the Rosewill Apollo keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, and really like the brown switches too. In fact, I am currently using this keyboard. The Cherry MX brown switches aren't very loud, but you can certainly hear them. I do not find them a bother at all, though.

If you can try each keyboard out before buying one, do so. If not, you can't go wrong with either one. If you prefer a more quiet typing experience, go with the Silent key switches version.

So I ended up going with the cherry mx silent switches (I'm typing this on there) and I am really enjoying it so far. But the only thing that's kinda bothering me is the way the key feels when bottoming out, It feels kinda mushy, which is what makes it silent but I may just have to get use to it.

Because i've gone from blue to a silent switch, its a completely different feel, I'm wondering as you've used both, do you feel like the brown switches are less mushy? Can you feel the bump in the brown switches, and whats the difference like in terms of noise?

Yes, there is a slight bump in the brown switches. And the brown switches do make a little more noise than the red switches, but I certainly wouldn't say they're loud. Those Cherry MX Silent key switches you are using also make a little noise, but are much quieter, of course. I really liked those Silent key switches, but found myself double typing keys when typing for the short amount of time I owned it. You'll get used to typing on the Silent key switches in no time.

I have ONLY tried the Cherry MX SIlent and Brown switches. I have no experience with the other Cherry Key switches. I have tried Razor's Green switches, and they felt nice to type on as well. I've always used membrane keyboards, so anything mechanical was going to feel nice to me. Personally, from what I hear about the Blue switches being noisy, it's not a switch I want to use.

Enjoy that awesome keyboard!
