It's normal for manufacturers and vendors to get new products on the shelves in time for the Christmas season buying frenzy. Any idea why Kaby Lake and the new 200 series motherboards are being held until January for release? I've got all the parts for a new build except for the CPU, mobo and ram. I'm anxiously awaiting availability of Kaby Lake.

I imagine everyone knows about Kaby Lake by now and there are pictures, specs and benchmarks for the lineup. I've seen pictures of the ASUS Kaby Lake/200 series motherboard lineup and there have been pictures and specs for MSI boards around for quite awhile now. We're only talking about a matter of days till the reported Jan 17 availability date and I'm surprised that an effort wasn't made to release products for the holiday buying spree.

Why would they do that? They still need to get rid of all their old hardware, which they can now mark down since the replacement items are now building up in their warehouses. Xmas is really one giant stock clearing event to make way for next years inventory.
