For more than 2 years now I've had a surround sound headset I use occasionally while gaming, and a cheap little clip on mic that i use with my speakers normally. I've always been able to play games/listen to music at a reasonable volume, and have my friends voices coming through without it picking up basically anything. Especially not peoples voices.
About 2 weeks ago I booted up my pc and hoped on discord and immediately people started complaining about my mic echoing. I went into a separate channel a found it was picking up really quiet game sounds and music too.
I hadn't changed any settings before this happened. I had reinstalled windows 2-3 weeks prior but the mic was working fine at first.
